Stradlings Fine Cabinetry Projects

Thank You for Choosing Stradlings!

Stradlings Remodeling ProjectsWe want to help you know what to expect during your remodeling (or new construction) project. Since 1935 Stradling's Fine Cabinetry has been a leader in creating wonderful living spaces. We are here to be your partner in this undertaking, and we want your project to proceed to completion as smoothly as possible.

During the various phases of your project some questions or concerns may arise. We will provide prompt answers to your questions and we’ll work together to resolve any problems. Your designer is your primary contact person and you should contact them with any questions. If you are unable to get through to them, you are encouraged to call Stradlings and ask for John Bevan x 209, or George Bogert x 220.

Even the best plans encounter a few bumps in the road; we are here to minimize them through careful planning, our dedicated design and installation team, and many years of experience working on projects like yours. We are confident that you will enjoy the end result and will make the journey well worth the wait.

Every project begins with a unique DESIGN. After you share with us your needs, expectations, ideas and themes that you have researched, our professional designers will help you plan the space to the greatest advantage. Our goal is to provide you with a more sophisticated look than you thought you could afford. To proceed with the design process you will make a design deposit. The deposit actually is credited to the cost of your job. You need to be certain that the design “fits well” and “feels right” for you. Make sure that the initial design will actually fit the space and budget you have available.  Now is the right time to make any changes or refinements. Ask a lot of questions! Most important, are you certain of your choices?  You will be living with them for some time.

Stradlings Fine CabinetryOnce we have made modifications and you have settled on a final design, it is time to order all of the materials for your job. Typically it may take up to 10 weeks for everything to arrive in our shop. We want to order cabinets, countertops, flooring, glass, tile, lighting, & construction services…. all at the same time. This helps to consolidate the construction process allowing us to complete your project in a timely manner. Once everything is ordered, changes or additions can be very expensive, complicated and possibly delay the entire project.

Before orders can be placed for your project, we require a deposit of 50% of the contract amount. The remaining balance is due prior to delivery and installation of the cabinets.  If there are addendums or any changes to the contract after it is approved that increase the cost, the entire amount of the addition must be paid for the changes to occur.

Because of the complexity of a project like yours there is very little flexibility in the schedule.  Canceling or changing any of subcontractors or product deliveries may result in the delay of your entire project. Additional trip charges or rescheduling fees may also be incurred. If for some reason you cannot be present when a delivery/install is scheduled, please be prepared to have a trusted friend, family member, or neighbor available to provide access and to sign for each delivery.

Typically your cabinets will be delivered and distributed in the appropriate rooms 1-3 days prior to the actual installation. To expedite the installation, all furniture, personal property, food, and house wares need to be moved out of the workspace BEFORE the installers arrive. In general, anything that might be damaged or impede their work (such as mirrors or pictures on the wall, or any where near the opposite side of the construction area) should be removed.

Appliances should be onsite for inspection and measurement prior to delivery of the cabinets. You (or the contractor) are responsible for arranging a delivery date and a separate installation date for the appliances. The appliances cannot be connected until the cabinet installation is complete.

Hardware needs to be on-site the day cabinet install begins.

Kitchen Remodeling ProjectsBe aware that for countertops there is a general manufacturing time of 2-3 weeks between the time of template measuring and countertop installation.

All sinks must be on-site the day of countertop template. We prefer that ALL plumbing be completed by that time as well.

Occasionally there are unforeseen construction costs, which are not detected until the existing cabinetry has been removed.  Plumbing and electrical may need to be rerouted.  These changes are not included in our original design estimate and may require an addendum and additional expense.

When the cabinetry is in place, you will want to inspect the job with the installer so that any concerns can be addressed at that time.  All homeowners should do this walk-through at the same time.  Our goal is for you to be satisfied with your finished project and will use our expertise and experience to achieve this objective.

If you are installing your own cabinetry, you must inspect all materials at the time of delivery. Stradlings will not leave cabinetry unless someone is present to inspect and sign for each piece. Paperwork will be provided for any repair/replacement concerns. If any product needs to be reordered you will be notified as soon as it arrives. Pick up or delivery arrangements need to be arranged before that time.

Remember, we want this project to have a positive lasting impression on you and your family.  We are here to be your partner and to help make your dreams come true.
